SPA NIGHT - week 1!!!!

Not really sure where to start, so many things we want to share, so many emotions... On June 14th we started shooting Andrew Ahn's debut feature, Spa Night. We started working with Andrew on the story at the very beginning of Nonetheless, two years ago, and we have been together ever since through the development and fundraising process, through the Sundance Screenwriting Lab, the Film Independent Screenwriting and Directing Lab, our Kickstarter campaign. Wonderful producers Kelly Thomas and David Ariniello joined our producing team and we put everything together and... here we are!!! IT'S HAPPENING!!! It's suddenly so real.

We couldn't be more grateful to all the amazing humans (and non-humans) who made this possible and supported us in many different ways. Our investors, our backers, our crew, our cast, our interns, all the organizations who gave us grants and all the brands that donated to the project... We wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for you.

We can't wait to share Spa Night with you.

Myrna is back to LA!

Myrna the Monster is coming to LA this Summer!!!

First, for its LA Premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival on THURSDAY June 11th at the Regal Theatre DTLA!!! Read all about it in this interview with Ian for Film Independent!

On June 15th, the amazing band YACHT - who did the soundtrack for the movie - is organizing a "Myrna Moondisco Party", also in DTLA, with a Spaceship/Moon themed bounce house!!! See details here and come Moon Bounce with us!!!

SPA NIGHT getting closer and closer to shooting...

Thrilled to announce that all the pieces of the puzzle are coming together for Andrew Ahn's debut feature that we are producing! After being awarded a Panavision New Filmmaker Grant - which includes an Alexa package for the entire duration of the shoot!!! - we received a FilmLA Grant through Film Independent that will cover our LA location permits in LA. 

Film Independent has been a great supporter of SPA NIGHT and many (most) of our talented director through their different programs, labs and grants -- and we are super-grateful to them!!!

Oscar Qualifying Myrna!

April has been a crazy month for Myrna. We had so many screening it's hard to keep up with all of them!!! To keep up to date with our screenings schedule and Festival updates, please like and follow our Facebook page.

But the most important and most exciting piece of news is that Myrna won the Grand Jury Award for Best Narrative Short at the Oscar qualifying Florida Film Festival!!! We are so stoked!!!

For all the New Yorkers and New Jersey friends out there: Myrna is coming to you on May 3rd @ NOON at the Montclair Film Festival!!!

Myrna the Monster wins best narrative short at Big Muddy Film Festival!

Amazing!!! We are really grateful to all the programmers, jurors, staff and audience at Big Muddy Film Festival for screening our movie! Humbled and honored to be awarded "Best Narrative Short"!

Giulia Caruso selected to produce Women In Film PSA

Every year, the Women In Film PSA Production Program selects 4 or 5 PSAs in the US to receive a probono PSA produced by WIF. In a very competitive night, different teams pitch their proposal to the WIF committee. Our producer Giulia Caruso teamed up with director Carina Tautu and writer Emily Manthei - and was assigned to produce the PSA for Socal Crossroads, a non-profit 501c(3) organization that was created to assist under privileged individuals who come from low income families in violence plagued communities.

SoCal Crossroads 

The PSA will shoot in the Summer in co-production with Nonetheless Productions, who is offering services probono for the cause.

SPA NIGHT awarded a Panavision New Filmmaker Grant!

Very proud and excited to announce that our project SPA NIGHT was awarded the New Filmmaker Grant from Panavision - which includes an Alexa package for the duration of the shoot!!! The value of the grant is about $50,000 and we are honored and humbled to share this news.

Producer and DP Ki Jin Kim is beyond thrilled to be shooting on the Alexa and we will be doing some tests soon… More on that when the time comes!

"Follow your Dreams!" SUNDANCE 2015 with Myrna the Monster

Hello from Park City!

We haven't really been able to update because we've been running around everywhere, but Myrna the Monster is doing spectacularly well! We have two more screenings (one tonight and the other on Thursday), after selling out the first two. The first screening is at 11:30AM today (the 27th of Jan) at the Prospector Square Theater, the final screening is at the Yarrow Hotel on Thursday at 9 PM. If you're in town, come check it out!
